Baldy Bob's Bum Burners

By R Stornaway (a pseudonym)

Taste and burn!

The author of this book called on BriarsBooks to help him get his unique recipe book to print. Baldy Bob, is an enthusiastic, accomplished (but messy) cook. He identifies strongly with male university students who don’t know how to cook and need a book of fool-proof and failproof recipes. This IS the book! - not just for students but for any male who feels a bit lost in a kitchen! Incidentally, the author’s pseudonynm – articulated carefully – is bound to appeal to males everywhere. Letter-size - 50 pages.

The book's illustrations had been created in SE Asia and while they were perfect for genre, the text and illustrations came fused together posing tricky reformatting, resizing and legibility problems and no  easy way to rectify

Spiral bound recipe book

Ideally recipe books need to lie flat. Spiral binding ( as below) is the best way to do that and there are much more attractive modern spirals. Glued spines (Perfect or PUR binding) are very popular in the book trade but in recipe books they make the spine much bouncier, making it harder to keep a book open on a kitchen bench. Below a very early and cheap recipe book done for a friend.
