The 2nd novel (276 pages) in her trilogy A Day for You by New Zealand author - Julianne Jones. It traces several generations of an immigrant family finding their way in New South Wales later in the 19th century amid family tragedies and difficulties. The novel is rich in relationships, true to the era, and life in the region. Having used traditional publishers for her other books the author wanted to explore Christian themes and felt freer to do so as a self-published author using Briar's Books. All sorts of capable and imaginative readers are hiding in the suburbs. This is a local novelist's 300-page sequel to an earlier book - The Tarnished Necklace. Cover design by a friend. Briar's Books took the book to print-ready stages. The earlier book pleased its readers so much that they begged for a sequel. This one set in 19th Century England and Wyoming, explores the tricky reconcilation between a pompous, aristocratic father and his estranged son in way that reflects the period and is authentic. Father gets his come-uppance in a way that delights a sense of fair play. The type face was selected to reflect the period. Trish Duffin is a pseudonym. The book is credible and imaginative. A good read.

When this Day Comes is the first book in a new trilogy, A Day for You by Whanganui author Julianne Jones. It is set in the fledgling city of Wellington about 1866. Julianne Jones is true to the period and writes easily and convincingly of the struggles of her heroine, a young woman finding her way towards independence and maturity while staying true to cherished values. The book moves between Australia and NZ and hints at an aristocratic heritage. Christian fiction, 294 pages. Cover design, layout and editing by BriarsBooks. PD Dawn
The first book in the Coin Trilogy, by a new New Zealand Author, PDDawn, from Canterbury. . The book is a historical romance based on fact and family history and set in the World War One era and a little later. 300 pages. The author is working now on the second book of the Trilogy. She decided to take the self-publishing route, because she felt the process would be less complex and there would be a better and faster return on her investment. Pam is focused on writing well, and tells a good story; the characters are authentic, and she researches carefully. Her style is punchy and vivid. Christian fiction. She approached Briar's Books for help with editing, layout, cover design and a kindle e-book.
