After 50 years as a professional counsellor and therapist in many state and private sector settings Sue felt the need to write a small book from a Christian perspective about what she feels is most neglected in counselling and therapy today - the relationship between a human soul and a loving God.

The book was translated into Hindi and printed in India several months later.

Job done! - the English version

Sue chose the self-publishing option because she didn't expect her niche handbook to be of interest to traditional secular publishers. She approached BriarsBooks for help in getting her book, and cover, designed and into print.

A Life Set Free is a simple 75-page handbook for people stuck in various behaviours who are prepared to believe that their full healing lies in experiencing the love of God, hearing him, forgiving themselves and others, and following God's roadmap.

Sue is relying on her networks to move the book along.

She was surprised when a visiting Indian pastor asked permission to translate into Hindi and make the book available to his flock.

The book takes a step-by-step approach to healing: supernatural power, "new birth", forgiveness, the battle for the mind, rejection, power and control, sexual abuse, self-cults, depression.

Holding a copy of the printed Hindi edition

Sue plans an English reprint which will be a second edition - a larger book with additional material.

BriarsBooks helped Sue organise her material, make the book look good and communicate well, and organised a local printer.

No doubt the collaboration between the author and BriarsBooks will continue into the next edition.
